I have BIG news.

I have news. And since you’re all some of my favourite people I wanted to share it with you.

You know how everything always happens at the same time? Like you’ll be sitting around on your arse, doing nothing much and then suddenly you have four weddings, a funeral, three birthday parties, sex and an awards show all over one weekend. Well it’s kind of like that.

This weekend is stuffed full full full of stuffs.

The BIG news is that The Sunday Times have offered me a weekly column, which starts on Sunday.

I know, how cool is that? It pretty much doesn’t come more dream-come-truey than that. The column is called A Million Miles from Normal, and will appear in the Sunday Times’ newly designed Magazine Section. The column’s going to be about life, dating, sex, work, madness and other general crazy stuffs.

Next exciting thing that’s happening this weekend is The Loeries, the annual advertising Oscars which are on Saturday and Sunday night here in Cape Town. (If you want to read about the debauchery that was last year’s awards, check out here, here, and here. And please hold thumbs for me, we have lots of finalists and are hoping to convert at least a couple of them.) But sadly I’ll be unable to attend in person this year, because (and here’s the third bit of news) I’m on holiday. As of today actually. Tonight I’m heading off Europe way for a couple of weeks.

I’m hoping that me being on holiday won’t affect the blog too much. I’m going to try maintain daily posting as best I can while I’m away, but please forgive me if I don’t manage to post every day and if i don’t respond to your comments immediately.

Whoop whoop. Have a wonderful weekend everybody. And don’t forget to buy The Sunday Times and let me know what you think of the new column.
