to honour a little tradition here on a million miles, i like to say a personal hello to each new follower. partly cos i’m glad you’re here, but mainly cos i know what a complete ball ache it is to sign up as a follower here, and the fact that you were so committed and persevered deserves some sort of recognition.
so here’s a massive enormous huge welcome to two new followers.
follower number 68 – kurt, and follower number 69 – angela.
because i have a smutty mind that resides pretty much permanently in smuttsville, i’ve been saving this specific ‘hello’ for follower number 69.
(who hopefully doesn’t mind sharing hellos with follower number 68.)
give me an h…
give me an e…
gimme a couple of ells…
and give us an o…
this font, called ‘love letters’, was created by a photographer named rowland scherman back in the seventies.
he says:
‘I tried for a while to make a coffee table-type book out of it. New York publishers were afraid that the pubes and the Z might offend someone. This was in 1975. Japanese publishers couldn’t do it either because of the pubic hair. The chromes sat in a closet for a decade or so. When I learned the rudiments of Photoshop, I did what would have been prohibitive in analog photography days and started making the typeface useable: spelling out greetings, making an eye chart, etc.’
yeah yeah, i know i know, now you want to see the ‘z’ – check it out below.
pretty raunchy in a beautiful, classy and artful kind of way, don’t you think? that must have been some shoot.
i think the ‘T’ is quite impressive, and the ‘L’ certainly shows a certain level of commitment, and i just have a few questions for the ‘R’.
thanks rowland, and welcome kurt and angela.
(sorry DNR)
I love it! I esp love being follower number 69. Thanks for the welcome Paige!
