A horror comedy

Posted on 21/03/201228/11/2013

My nephew is 13.

He’s one of my favourite writers. He’s penned some hilarious essays for school (in some the comedy is intentional, in others it’s purely by chance).

Last month, for an assignment he wrote an essay about a dream he had (burglaries, zombies, the works). I thought it was great, so was surprised to hear that he only got a D for it. Turns out the assignment was to write about your dreams, as in hopes and dreams, not ‘ate too much cheese before I went to bed’ kind of dreams. Bummer dude.

His latest school essay was supposed to be a horror, but when he read it out in class he says everyone laughed, so he turned it into a Horror Comedy.

see, he literally added in the ‘& Comedy’ bit afterwards.
He’s flexible like that, that’s the way he rolls.
A couple of parts made me laugh out loud, so I thought I’d share:

First he sets the scene:

Suddenly, a scary moment:

Then we go a little surreal, and more scary moments:

And the cherry on top:

A+, don’t you think? I was going to just go with an A, but the grumpy Amy Winehouse sent it over the top for me.

I’ve asked him to write a guest post for this blog, entitled ‘Some things that I hate’. I’ll post that on Friday.
I’m thinking he’s 13, there’s some angst, this should be good.

I’ve never wanted to be a teacher, but I’d definitely want to be his! Brilliant! Hahahahahaha! Big Potential!
