It’s the little things in life that make me happy.
Rain. I love the rain. And when you’re writing and that perfect line just slips into your head all by itself. Also, ridiculous gifs. I’ll laugh at just about any of them.
But mostly I love insanely clever ideas like this:
It’s called a Biblio-Mat.
It’s kind of like a random-book-jukebox.
It’s a vending machine that was invented for an antiquarian bookshop in Canada called The Monkey’s Paw.
You put $2 into the coin slot, and out pops a literary surprise.
Perfect for if you can’t decide what to read next.
And perfect if you’re a small independent book seller with a ton of old books on your hands.
No two books are ever the same. Collect all 113 million titles, it says on the machine.
It makes my heart beat a little faster, and it makes my jealousy muscle twitch. Why the hell didn’t I think of that?

i’m sitting staring at it, wondering if i had $2 in my pocket whether i would spend it there? It’s a bold move, looking at the books you don’t take is half the fun?
…
yes i would … except now i have NO idea what my reward will be? And whether or not i would have enjoyed the book i’d never have chosen myself … ?
Oh Paige you terrible tease!
peace 😉
Alright, here you go David, you got Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. Happy or do you want to go again?
Happy AND i want to go again 🙂
Oh dear, you just got a Bunty Annual for girls. Wanna go again?
It’s an old cook book from the seventies. The pages are slightly yellowed and mildewed. It’s called The Joys of Cooking. It is a hard cover. Happy?
LOLOL …. yeah, cos as they come out, i know who will enjoy them 😀
